An idea came up tonight with a bunch of us over beers in regards to a late April Fest and sleepover at /O Sauble River takeout. The owner invited a bunch of us last year to stay over at the gated takeout. I think we should take him up on that offer. I think his name was Bill. Everyone/anyone there when that invite was offered, doi you remember his name or phone number?

I remember taking a drink from his mickey, but not to sure what his last name was. That sounds like a good idea Andrew, but I think we should wait until May 1, because then I will be back in Sudbury.

Now that is a good idea, made better by the fact that Scott will be at school>>>

Thanks Mike... jealousy in your old age is understandable so I don't take offense! I might even be done mid April which means you might have to deal with the "school boy" anyways.

sounds like a good idea. I can't remember his name but we can figure this out by simple process of elimination. he was the only 'something' in the phonebook, and we know where he lives.. the internet can figure this one out.

I don't know if its anything other than 553. The map on mapquest sucks #$%@. I'll look into it soon enough, but if anyone has any ideas, great.
For now i'm busy trying to get boats down and available in Chile. Tyler Curtis (great paddler)lent us 2 boats free of charge down there so i scored a sweet deal from a really great fella. Only 2 more boats to go and we may just bring a couple of our own. Between all my shit i'm trying to get together, help on this Sauble Fest thing would be great.
P.S. Girls, thank you for your posts in regards to my birthday. I have to tell you though, getting old may suck, but it sure beats the alternative.

Andrew, is the idea to promote the Aux Saubles Fest as a come one and all event, in which we share our Northern Ontario secret gems with the rest of the boater board? That could be fun actually, show these non-sudbury paddlers what paddling and partying is all about. Kayaking is partying and partying is kayaking...

I think we should make it open for anyone that wants to go.

I think it'll be really cool with an open house tryout. The only thing i see to consider would be how appreciative the owner of the property would be. First off we have to find him and ask if is still o.k. When we leave, his area has to be clean. If it turns out to be quite a gathering (which isn't likely), perhaps we'll call it "little woody". Anyway, Mikey used to stay at the put-in(which Mikey says is government property), and there is a sneak into the park we could try. With the park we'd have toilets and nice scenery but if it got to loud maybe a visit from the local cops would happen. That would leave all the people with to much winter fat getting caught. Kevin, you'd be diced fer sure.

Lets work out the details with the owner, set up a shitty website to post the details, pick a weekend, and host the first ever Aux Sables Fest. But I think we should consider changing the name to something like the Scotty-Fest. I like the sounds of that. We can make some posters for the boaterboard, get our SSM friends to come down for the weekend, and let'r rip.

I know who the owner is and it should be no problem to get the permission. He is a good guy and as long as people respect his land than I can't see why it can't be a yearly thing. Also I have a big back yard that can be used if that falls through here in Massey.
