Vermillion at Val Caron was at 3.8 "Horseshoe formed at pumphouse and the wave up top was flat green surfer left and sweet on the right hard to catch" for me but Mike's fast Thruster makes it look easy. vermillion at val caron at 4 cat ass was aswesome with a sweet foam pile marco lefts side was sweet the pit is death @ 4.4 even sweeter Vermillion @ 3.7 Too low for sex wave Too hight for cats ass 3.35 cats ass was in 3.25 wave is still in getting smaller and need a rope marcos is shallow Sturgeon River south side of hwy 17 needs to be at 95 on the gauge! This would require a rope similar to Bus Eater access...big eddy below! Updated Link wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/my_station_list/index_e.htmlCanada and USA watermonitor.gov/naww/index.php

aux sable @ 8.8 (less) most of play is at the top of the river......lots of almost big waves though out the river don't run anything at the chute.....gerry's little sneak is bad eddie hop needs a look before running.....keep far left
aux sable at 8.7 good wave at the second rapid and end of first rapid. Soft 3-4 ft wave. Big sergy wave at the bottom of the 3rd rapid. At higher water the would be a sweat wave at the middle of the first rapid.

French at 2.5 hole is sweet. Second best spots around sudbury at this level. Deep, safe and fun Aux Sable at 6.....easy run...... play at the third rapid and lunch spot wave at the bottom of the first chute in the park. Its shallow after the wave could be better at high water. The run including the last big falls looks very runable

Temagami river was alright. The water was definietly low. With higher water alot would come out and alot of big water 4+ would appear The access through the creek worked well There are now many logging road up there. Take the first road right after the bridge over the temagami river that is just before the creek. Follow the road for about 3.5-4km. The road will split contining straight (older road) and the new road turns left. Take the old road to the right (straight) follow it for another 1ish km until you hit a small bridge with beaver ponds on the left and right. Park and put in. There were about 8 dams to slide over in your boat to get to the river. This way is easier on your vehicle and the poor guy (aka me) that is doing the bike shuttle.
We were able to run everything. The best 8-10 ft drops were at the top (2nd rapid). Again in the spring this would be absolutely pumping and will be paddled.

I checked out eau claire gorge today One of the best spots that I have been to in this province. Can't believe I drove past it 100 times. Only 10 minutes off hwy 17. Starts off as a shallow class I-II and narrows into a II increasing into a low IVish. Lots of little drops 4-5 ft in holes. Could be some play holes on it. Run ends in a medium to small eddy above the 40-50 footer. Two chutes. The minor chute is blocked by trees and not runnable. Main chutes has a great approach from the eddie on the left on is a hairy rock slide. Runnable as long as you don't flip. Pretty shallow and there is a nasty joint set. No issues with holes. Single log across the gorge that would be an issue at higher water. There is another decent set (two 5-7 ft drops/slides) under a brigde on the way there. Would be a crazy run in the spring.
Worth a look.....maybe a run?
Maybe more on that creek. Looks like something from BC not Ontario.

Hi folks, Laura here from Whitewater Ontario. Would you mind if I listed some of this flows and levels information onto the WO River Wiki? It is all very useful info and it would be great if you were willing to let me list it. I would credit the Sudbury Paddling Group for providing the information. Let me know what you think either by a post of pm. Thanks, Laura www.whitewaterontario.ca

Check out Dokis today. I think we should be using the gauge at portage dam which was at 192 m. The wave below the bridge was too low. I also ran low Chaudiere rapids (right at bridge). Wicked 10-12 rock slide into a trashy but diagonal hole. The water was squirlely below it. A small surf was present at the bottom which may be better at higher water. Upper Chaudiere was just a bunch of flat big waves that might come in during higher water. Potentially for 8-10 ft waves coming in there they just need to steepen. There is another set below the Chaudière rapids, could be good. No reception out there so I couldn't look to see where the other set was on my map on the phone. Too bad Palkovits was always toooo lazy (no surprise) to get out of his car to keep these out when he was there before.
