Me and Matt were there yesterday. The level was about 200cms and the rapids below Portage dam were wicked. There were two really good spots. The top wave was about 5-6 ft. high and had a good foam pile and was steep. It was a bitch to get on but I think a rope will solve the problem.
There was another wave/hole right at the very bottom. Its kind of like Robs playhole only its bigger/higher and a little more unpredictable.
Matt took some photos. When he emails them to me I'll put them for everyone to see.

Did you look at the You Tube section? Just waiting here for your pics, watching the mould grow.
Tell us about all the moves you were laying down or was Matt giving you some schooling... Oh, and does Mr. Thruster explode on demand???

Ok Dave. We'll have to leave right @ 2pm if we want to do any paddling. I'll see if I can get a water ski rope.
Mike the wave is pretty sweet. Out of the ten or so times I tried to get on it I only made it twice. And when I got on I was too tired to do anything. Once we get a rope set up it should be a lot better. By the way the section below portage dam is the youtube section.
I'll post some pics when I get them.

I posted some pictures of the waves at Dokis on facebook to check out. laurentian.facebook.com/album.php?aid=7532&id=777399077"Recent tests done by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) have confirmed the presence of blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) in the French River—from Wolesley Bay to Dry Pine Bay. " The Dokis waves are above this section of the french river. There isn't a health alert for this section of the french therefore we're safe regardless of the effects of cyanobacteria on our health. Kevin I have a tow rope which belongs to Mike G I may be able to bring it, CHeers matt

alright, I'm bitching out... I slept wierdly on my shoulder last night and kinda tweaked it, so a tow rope isn't gonna do it any good. now you can leave earlier anyways
have a good one
