I'm hopeing to check out the "dream spot" this weekend before winter arrives and I'm looking for any info on the play spot. I heard it's just past blind river on the Mississagi River and that it's visable from the highway. Is it a wave/hole??? Any rocks or hazards to watch out for?
It's currently flowing at 10.3 is this a descent level?
Directions and parking info would be sweet!
Any additional info would be super appreciated,
Cheers, Matt

Hey Matt,
The dreamspot is clearly visible from Hwy17 and there is a public boat ramp that is right at the actual spot. you can darn near drive a vehicle right on the feature. I am not sure what 10.3 is like but I am positive that it is always worth thre drive to see it. Also check out the serpent on the way down as the water levels are higher and the wave that I was telling you about may be in or at least the hole will be deeper ;D

the dream spot is a wild wave!!! it had a clean pool that it drops into, challenge is that the tractor beam of an eddy on both sides that pour into the hole!!!
My Mom now lives across the road from the spot. So I'll be heading there a few time for a paddle. As far as the best level, I believe that Keven told me that 10.4 was the safest level as it is less retentive. Other levels he mentioned that it could be really tough to get out of the wave!!
Don't let this scare ya it is a wild ride and worth it when it's good!!!

Dreamspot @ 10.4m: Shot with C860L,D360L at 2007-08-27 I believe the only hazard at this level would be a viscous thrashing. Anything over 10.4m gets kind of hard to get out of. The eddies are scary and there's killer sturgeon looming around all over the place. There's a shallow spot on surfers right...the same spot you get out of the hole. And yes it is more of a hole than a wave. Use your own judgement before you go in. It gets a lot more friendly when the water is lower. People have had complete yard sales @ 10.4m....and I mean complete! Hey James, buddy, why don't you tell everyone what happened to you....haha

Hey Kevin, Outside of just about losing all my gear and having my helmet break (the clasp at least) there is really not more to mention . the best part is having to pull up your pants and spray skirt because i was suck right out of the boat.....almost a free show for the locals and all the guys laughing at me from shore! Thanks for the pic/info Looks really awsome and a blast to surf, as for the eddies, viscous thrashing aspect and man eating stergon, I guess that's just the price you have to pay...if the weeekend's warm I'd love to check it out, you in hartman? Anyone else?

Haha...no seriously watch out for sturgeon if you go. There's plenty of 300+ pounders that loom around in the eddies. I'm pretty sure they would crush the fuck out of you if you got between one and a rock.

Wow!
300lb stergon, that's bringing kayaking to a whole new level.
Planning on running the Sauble saturday leaving suds @ 10:00am , Mike G and I ran it today and it was pumping at 5.5 lots of fun, an improvement over 4.5, Anyone interested?
So far it's me, Vicki, Kevin U and Jermie (all ADVL'ers)
We'll be taking out time and scouting many of the rapids so estimated run time is 4hrs
Hartman bring your pretty blue boat and paddle with us, even if you're hungover!
Cheers
