Wicked trip. Lots of whitewater, big wave trains and great scenery. Best trip for the cash you could ever find. It got a bit cold at night sleeping on wet sand. Minus 10-15 range (everything froze) and very little sun in canyon. Incredible hikes and slot canyons flowing into the Colorado. A must trip. Lots of swims and booties on the trip. One guy went somewhere bad but it worked out. (no booties for this guy who ran it in a too small playboat)
I thought the Palkovits' were on a trip in front of us. A group of three (one raft, two kayakers) all swam on the first rapid and all three boats went off downstream. They had to spend a night river side with no gear and wait for another trip to pass them to pick them up and bring them to their gear which was waiting in an eddie a few miles below. One guy dislocated his shoulder. A group escort them to Phantom Ranch were the injured guy was helicoptered out. The rangers forced the other guys to walk out of the canyon (day hike) and their raft and kayaks were transported out with the injured guy via chopper (fairly expensive).

That a boy Mecke! You finally grew some cajones, and asked the question. Now if you could add brains and balls...you may turn out to be a good paddler yet!
Congratulations:)
